RYDLYME Cleaning at Major Brewery

At a major brewery in the western U.S., RYDLYME was utilized to clean two ammonia condensers that had been operating at a 30% loss in efficiency prior to the cleaning. Our representative for that area, TRS, Inc., recommended 2,200 gallons of RYDLYME to completely clean the condensers. The job took place over 1 1/2 days with three cleaning periods of 4-5 hours. The result was the header and spray nozzles were freed of all scale, and the tubes were cleaned down to the bare metal. The only scale left on the system was on the distribution pipes where RYDLYME was unable to reach due to the spray nozzle pattern. After completion of the cleaning, the units returned to service and the brewery was actually able to run these units dry with only the outside ambient temperature providing adequate cooling. The condensers are now operating at an estimated efficiency of 95% or better.
